This is one episode you don't want to miss.Happy Days [6:42] “This is a story of surviving and thriving after living through trauma.” “I really teach the methods for how to gently face into and honor your life's experiences and all that you've been through and to give the reader the guided path from that trauma to profound freedom and inner peace.” How do I know if I have trauma? [10:48] “We all have trauma. Sometimes it's trauma with a big T like mine, like yours with your sister trauma with a small being bullied, being told you're stupid.” “Whether we're aware of the trauma or not consciously, we do everything we can to push them down so that we don't have to let their presence be known in our day-to-day adult life." Triggers [15:03] “We have to be brave enough to look at and take an inventory of what triggers us and the ways that we run from it in order to begin.” “Typically a reflection of an unresolved wound from our childhood.” “What is it that triggers you? What does it feel like when you're triggered? How are you running and avoiding that trigger. Asking yourself those three questions and going down the list of all the triggers that are super active for you will help you notice the patterns.” IFS [19:34] “The goal of IFS is to recognize, honor, and respect the protectors and the managers, and then give yourself permission to get closer to the parts of you that are activated and honor, and respect them as well.” “When we're triggered, it's really the child, parts of us that are getting triggered..And then the protector parts come in to save us from having to feel the trigger” BEING A BEGINNER [32:33] “Being committed to being a student and being willing to learn and being willing to grow. And sometimes, that looks like being a beginner.” “There's purpose in the pain that you cannot see yet..find the holy in the s**t."
