Description: In a Fabian-Socialist context, the term “conspiracy” originated with the conspirators themselves. It was freely used by early Fabians like H. G. Wells (“The Open Conspiracy”) and their close collaborators. Lenin and other Russian communist leaders who enjoyed warm relations with the Fabians, were so fond of it that they carried on referring to their party as “conspiratorial” long after they had seized power.Indeed, as amply shown by numerous critics, Fabian-Socialist strategy and tactics fit the accepted definition of conspiracy: historically, the Fabian Society has seen itself as an elite group that uses stealth as a means to establish socialism, i.e., nationalisation, abolition of private property and total state control over society.
