Every day you are faced with a choice. As you experience different emotions, what will you do with them? How will you respond to them? You name them, but now what?  Whether we realize it or not, we are all doing something with our feelings - addressing them and growing through them, or ignoring them and letting them control us. But what if our emotions draw us closer to God and lead us to connection with others?  What will you choose? Listen in as Candace and Jennie talk about how they choose daily to embrace + grow in their emotions, why you cannot be a great parent, spouse, student, or Christian while remaining emotionally unhealthy, and ways Jesus has transformed their lives as they have walked with Him.   Connect with Candace and Jennie: Candace on Instagram @candacecbure  Follow the Podcast on Instagram @candacecameronburepodcast Follow the Podcast on TikTok @ccbpodcast Jennie on Instagram @jennieallen  Grab Jennie’s book: Untangle Your Emotions
There is a connection between your emotional health and your body. Just think about what you feel physically when you experience different emotions:  When you feel joy, where in your body do you feel it? When you feel sadness, how do you express it physically? When you feel fear or worry, how does your body respond?  Our bodies feel our emotions, they are connected. And often the feelings we are struggling with are exacerbated by how we are treating (or mistreating) our bodies.  In this episode, Candace and Jennie are talking about emotions + our body. They discuss how they have seen their physical health positivity impact their emotional health, and vice versa. They also share healthy physical habits that have helped them when they are feeling certain emotions (like sad or stressed).  What are ways you keep your body healthy so that it can support your emotional health well? What is your favorite memory from your childhood? What makes those memories good memories?  In this episode, Candace and Jennie are focusing on emotions and parenting. The truth is that we all need to know that we are seen, soothed, and safe in our emotions – especially kids. We aren’t alone in our emotions, and neither are our children. We get to be there for them emotionally, so does Jesus. Feelings don’t heal when we ignore them; they heal when we are wrapped up by the people we love in the middle of them.  Listen in as Candace and Jennie talk about their personal experiences parenting young children + adult children, being fully present to the emotions of your children (no matter their age), and what they have learned from struggling to “fix” things for their kids.  Parenting isn’t a one-size fits all – and emotions aren’t the same for every child. How do we foster emotional health in our children? Tune in to hear more!  In this episode, Jennie talks about the book: Story of God. God gave us emotions but He doesn’t want our emotions to drive the train of our lives. If God’s will for your life is driving the train, your emotions and thoughts will follow. But if your emotions are driving the train, what happens?  In this episode, Candace and Jennie talk about what it looks like to submit your will to Jesus with your day-to-day emotions, taking hold of your emotions, halting your thoughts from spiraling, and the power of speaking your emotions out loud to a trusted community.  Emotions are a gift from God but what you choose to do with them is up to you. What are some things in your day to day life that can pull you toward fear or worry? There are so many reasons or moments in throughout the day that can open the door to those emotions.   “Of course you feel that way” is comforting and validating to every emotion we experience, including fear and worry. We all experience fear and with the world around us, the things we see or read or experience, it is no wonder we feel fearful. But if God is with us (even in our fear), we can experience peace, right?  In your fear, there are few questions that can help shift you towards peace, like:   What is my perspective of God?  Do I see God disappointed in my fear or comforting me?  Where am I looking for peace?  When God tells us not to be afraid, it’s because He wants to remind us that we need Him and that He is there for us. He does not scold us in our fear; He comforts us with truth. In this conversation, Candace and Jennie talk about fear – moments in their lives when they walked through fear and worry, how media and social media attribute to our fear, and how fear shifts to peace when your perspective of God changes. Can you remember the first time you really felt a deep sense of sadness? Looking back on your younger self, what would you say to them now?  Sadness isn’t an emotion we always care to admit out loud or bring people into. But the truth is the Bible is full of characters dealing with dark and heavy circumstances; we see all kinds of people – including Jesus – feeling AND expressing their fear, loneliness, and anxiety, while they faithfully pursued God’s heart.  In this vulnerable conversation, Candace and Jennie share their earliest memories related to sadness, how depression has impacted their lives, and the pressures we all face to smile through the low times - and just be happy.  If you are struggling with depression, or you know someone who is, listen in with grace + compassion. When we think of anger, we don’t often think of it as a God-given emotion … but it is. There’s nothing in scripture that says “Don’t get angry.” Instead, we are encouraged to be slow to anger. But what does it mean to be slow to anger?  In this week’s conversation, Candace and Jennie are digging into anger: what it is, why it is better to be honest about it rather than hide it, strategies that have helped them slow down in their anger, and ways anger can be destructive. Remember, we are to be “slow to anger” but also not to sin in our anger. Listen in to hear more! K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. We are wrapping up season 4 with one final conversation between Candace + Bianca – and it’s all about why our decisions matter, how trials, tribulations, and trauma are *sometimes* gifts, and whether or not there is a time we should (or need to) quit.  Have you ever been in a season where you know without a doubt that you need to quit? Need to walk away? Need to let go? Those moments will come. While the encouragement this season has been to keep going, not give up, and grow your grit … there are times when we need to be wise and walk away.  But how do you navigate that? Bianca breaks down questions you should ask yourself BEFORE you quit, and the value of inviting wise counsel into your final decision.  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Bianca discuss:  Challenges in their lives that they now consider a gift looking back  What James 1 teaches us about “getting over what we are under” Whether there are times we should quit  Connect with Candace and Bianca:  Candace on Instagram @candacecbure  Candace on TikTok @candacecameronb Follow the Podcast on Instagram @candacecameronburepodcast  Follow the Podcast on TikTok @ccbpodcast Bianca on Instagram @biancaolthoff Bianca’s book Grit Don’t Quit For all things mentioned in this episode head over to ccbpodcast.com Thank you to this season's sponsors:  AccessMore The Chosen Holy Night in Theaters December 12-17

Do you connect with Him in the mundane moments of your day?  Candace is joined by Aarti Sequiera in today’s conversation to talk about her journey from being born in India, raised in Dubai, and moving to the USA. But more so, she shares her beautiful testimony of coming into a relationship with Jesus.  “You can tell someone’s faith by what they ate.” At least in India + Dubai! Being raised around different religions, Aarti’s faith has evolved over the years – she once viewed God as a statue on the wall and a far-off father figure. Now, she understands and walks in a loving, grace-filled relationship with Him.  Aarti is a former journalist turned movie co-producer (alongside George Clooney … what?!), and is now the author of 2 incredible cookbooks. It’s a common statement and one that might hold a different meaning for each person.  But at the end of it all, it is because of His grace we are on this earth. In this episode, Katy Nichole talks about writing “By The Grace of God” and how that journey led her to find healing from her past.  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Katy discuss:  Who in their family lineage shaped who they are today  Coming from a history of believers OR non-believers – you can break generational habits and carry the legacy of your family well  Facing the consequences of your actions while still standing because of God’s grace  All season long you can also listen to Candace + Katy’s Summer Playlist. Whatever it is, there is always something you can be grateful for.   Today’s conversation is about one of Candace’s favorite songs on Katy Nichole’s album – “Jesus, Thank You.” It is an anthem of gratefulness to Jesus. If there are two things that can shift your mindset, it is gratitude and worship; and this song encompasses both of those things.   In this episode, you will hear Candace and Katy discuss:  The things they are grateful for in this season  How worship and gratitude can shift your mindset and the atmosphere around you The fear of failure – Would you rather fail or wonder what would have happened if you tried?   All season long you can also listen to Candace + Katy’s Summer Playlist. K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. You know those gatherings where things get a little tense because two people in the group have different opinions on something? Maybe you have been on one of the sides, and were in the tension too. Divisive moments like those can lead to broken relationships. But how do we respond?  We forgive. Human nature is flawed, so we are all going to hurt one another at some point. Is it better to forgive or live with unforgiveness? Carrying the characteristics of God - love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness - flows into our relationships with others.  Katy Nichole wrote “Things I Wish I Would Have Said” as an anthem that points us toward forgiveness. Knowing we are forgiven, we can forgive others.  “When you have the opportunity to say I love you, I miss you, I need you … say those things! Don’t miss the opportunity to say them.” Tune in to hear more!  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Katy discuss:  How divisive moments can lead to broken relationships  The importance of bringing the characteristics of God into every day relationships Not living with regret and trusting God’s plan will unfold anyway  Scripture that points toward forgiveness  All season long you can also listen to Candace + Katy’s Summer Playlist. K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. Life can be hard. And when it is, can you still praise God through it? Think about a time when you have gone through something painful - whether it was physical  or emotional. Maybe you are walking through difficulty right now. During those seasons, you may feel either connected or disconnected from God. Believing He can perform miracles and redeem situations, but feeling anger and bitterness toward Him for the pain you are experiencing.  But as you walk through those seasons, hold onto hope. If Jesus has changed your life before, you can remain confident that He will be with you and can bring new life again.  For Katy Nichole, she leaned into her faith when she faced back surgery (twice!). As she walked through that experience, she came out stronger - both physically and spiritually. Today, things may not be the same as they were, but she remains full of hope knowing that God did not fail her and that she is not forgotten by Him.  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Katy discuss:  The pivotal moment in Katy’s life that inspired “Jesus Changed My Life”  Feeling connected AND disconnected from God in difficult seasons of life  When miracles happen but things change, it doesn’t take away from the miracle or the fact that God did not fail you or forget you (even if it feels that way)  All season long you can also listen to Candace + Katy’s Summer Playlist. K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. Music is powerful. It impacts our lives in many ways, and often speaks right to our souls.  When we sing, it can lift us out of our worries, thoughts, and circumstances. And it reminds our hearts we aren’t alone. That is why Candace invited Katy Nichole on the show for this season – to share stories behind the songs from her debut album, “Jesus Changed My Life.” In this first conversation of the season, you will hear Katy share what led her to write her chart-topping single, “In Jesus Name” which has become an anthem of prayer in the homes of millions around the world. You will hear Katy sing this song live at the end of the show - she brought her ukulele along! In this episode, you will hear Candace and Katy discuss: How Katy went from studying in the medical field to pursuing music full time Laying your dreams at the feet of Jesus and what He can do with them when you trust Him and His timing  Writing “In Jesus Name” over the course of several years, and how the lyrics came from her prayer journal  All season long you can also listen to Candace + Katy’s Summer Playlist. K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. Guess what?! Season 3 is *almost* HERE!  This season Candace will talk about the Stories Behind The Songs with her season co-host, Katy Nichole.  Katy joins Candace to share what inspired each song on her debut album, “Jesus Changed My Life.” This album came from a dark season that she overcame, and she hopes the words in these songs inspire others when they walk through hard seasons. Because God is with you in this moment, and in every future moment of your life.  One of the biggest reasons Candace invited Katy onto the show for this season is because she LOVES music. Not only does it speak to her throughout the roller coaster rides of life, but it also gives her peace, comfort, and joy. Does music do that for you too?  We hope this season inspires you in your faith journey and in life. Mark your calendars for Tuesday June 20th for the release of Season 3, Episode 1! K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. We are wrapping up season 2 (already!) and this conversation is the perfect way to end our conversation on Finding Purpose.  When you start dating someone, or are thinking about getting married, it’s pretty common to make sure the people closest to you (especially family) give input on whether your partner is a good fit or not.  Different cultures have different ways of giving “permission” before two families get connected. But when it comes to stepping into your purpose, do you need “permission”?  Do you need to wait for things to look good?  For you to feel ready?  Or for your next right step to match what other people approve of? Jesus went before us and occupied different spaces, which gives us permission to do the same. He is our ultimate permission-giver. We are firmly secure in Christ, and no one’s approval or rejection, no uncomfortable or risky space – nothing can take away that security we have in Him.  Listen in as Heather kicks off this episode with a rapid fire Q+A with Candace, and ask yourself  - would you rather reveal your Netflix watch list or your Music playlists?! Thank you Heather for being part of this season, and offering a wealth of wisdom and encouragement each week!  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Heather discuss:  Needing (or waiting for) permission to take a step into a new space or a next step in life   How God gives us permission to step into our purpose, even if it doesn’t look perfect or we feel ready  Spaces Jesus had to occupy so that we could have permission to occupy our own spaces  Head to Candace.com to download the FREE guide, and to order Heather’s latest book, Right Where You Belong.  For all things mentioned in this episode head over to https://ccbpodcast.com/episodes/season-2/12 Thank you to this episode’s sponsors:  AccessMore https://www.accessmore.com/ TruPlay: TruPlay.com
K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. Have you ever found yourself in a season that felt like living in a prison? Maybe you actually have spent time in a prison or in jail. We’ve all walked through spaces and seasons that feel really difficult. Maybe you are in one right now. Don’t give up. There is grace for what you are walking through right this second.  A lot of times we are walking through hard places and blame God for the circumstances, but He is the one who is with us through them and He heals us in them. No matter where we go or what we face, His presence is with us and we are completely surrounded by Him.  Think about the story of Paul in the Bible, when he was in prison. The walls begin to shake around him, crashing down to create a way for him to escape. But his first response wasn’t to run from the prison. He chose to stay and wait for God to release him – and when God did, He released Paul in peace. When spaces feel like prisons, do we want to try to escape or wait until God releases us in peace?  If you are walking through a hard place, God’s presence and His peace are with you. And if you have made it through a valley, use your story to encourage others on the journey.  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Heather discuss:  Spaces that feel like prisons and how our attitude can impact embracing those places  The difference between worrying and bitterness Hard places in their lives where they’ve had to walk through it with God and allow Him to heal them through it  Feeling God’s presence and finding His peace in the valley Head to Candace.com to download the FREE guide, and to order Heather’s latest book, Right Where You Belong.  For all things mentioned in this episode head over to https://ccbpodcast.com/episodes/season-2/11 Thank you to this episode’s sponsors:  AccessMore https://www.accessmore.com/ TruPlay: TruPlay.com Boll and Branch https://www.bollandbranch.com Promo Code CANDACE
K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. Have you heard about George, the thriving fiddle leaf fig Candace has?  Over the years, she has tended to it, nourished it, and cared for it. And just like she has taken care of her fiddle leaf fig, we attend to our space and assignments.  There are things that can distract us or sabotage our space. Like foxes that steal from gardens and impact future fruitfulness, there are things that get in our way and impact our future ability to grow.  What are situations or issues that distract you within your space?  Is there something that feels like it could totally sabotage your assignments?  It might be easy to think of external issues, but often we get in our own way.  The good news is that there is a river of love and unlimited resources of all we need – it comes from God. And when you are in the river, your cup always overflows. Cultivate what matters in life, nourish your assignments, tend to your spaces, and watch them flourish and grow.  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Heather discuss:  What tending your space means and how you can tend to it well  Things that can sabotage or distract our own assignments and space (and sometimes, it can be our own selves)  Ways they structure their life to combat things that try to distract and sabotage them How cultivating your relationship with God and others will support you as you tend your space  Head to Candace.com to download the FREE guide, and to order Heather’s latest book, Right Where You Belong.  For all things mentioned in this episode head over to https://ccbpodcast.com/episodes/season-2/10 Thank you to this episode’s sponsors:  AccessMore https://www.accessmore.com/ TruPlay: TruPlayGames.com
K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. When it comes to owning our space, sometimes we may find ourselves shrinking back. Maybe it’s because we fear failing and being hurt, we lack bravery, or are too comfortable.  On the other end of the spectrum, sometimes we can swell within our space. We find ourselves stepping over the lines of our space and into the sphere of someone else’s.  Think about it this way: you show up to a theater to watch a play. The seats are assigned and you sit in the wrong seat. Not only are you taking up someone else’s space, but you are missing out on your own. Sound familiar?  Knowing who you are, who you are not, where you start, and where you end is incredibly powerful when it comes to discovering (and living out) your God-given purpose.  Let us encourage you: You don’t need to be the one that fills all the spaces. You just need to fill your own space, with the gifts, talents and experiences you have.  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Heather discuss:  Taking up space that belongs to someone else; what that means and why it is important that we should be aware of it  Knowing who you are, who you are not, where you start and where you end (self-differentiating, which can be really hard to do!)  What the hula-hoop space is and how understanding your circle, and the circle of others, will you own your space well  How shrinking back relates to growth and stretching  Head to Candace.com to download the FREE guide, and to order Heather’s latest book, Right Where You Belong.  For all things mentioned in this episode head over to  https://ccbpodcast.com/episodes/season-2/09 Thank you to this episode’s sponsors: AccessMore https://www.accessmore.com/
K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. Have you ever watched a video of a child getting a cochlear implant and hearing for the first time? Typically the parent’s first words to their child are about their identity. They tell them their name and how loved they are. God wants us to turn on our listening hearts so He can tell us the same things. He wants to tell us our identity and our worth, and wants to offer direction to our lives. But we must have a God-listening heart to truly hear what He is saying.  How do you determine what is a good idea and what is God’s idea? It is a question we’ve all asked and wrestled with, especially when navigating our purpose in life. This is where discernment comes in. And not the kind of discernment you may be used to hearing about. A discernment to know where God is leading you starts with a heart to hear and listen to His voice.  And as you develop your God-listening heart, you will be able to discern what your responsibility is (and is not) in the world. He will guide and lead you to discover your purpose.  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Heather discuss:  Understanding discernment from the perspective of wisdom  How important it is to sit and listen to God when you pray (it’s not just about talking to God)  Journal prompts you can use to begin sitting with and listening to God’s voice as you pray  Discerning what is our responsibility and what is not our responsibility Head to Candace.com to download the FREE guide, and to order Heather’s latest book, Right Where You Belong.  For all things mentioned in this episode head over to  https://ccbpodcast.com/episodes/season-2/08 Thank you to this episode’s sponsors:  AccessMore https://www.accessmore.com/ Boll and Branch https://www.bollandbranch.com Promo Code CANDACE
K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. In the last four episodes, Heather + Candace broke down the Boundary Lines of Time, Place, Wiring, and Experience. They all fit together and help you navigate decisions, give direction to your purpose, and clarity to your assignments in life. In today’s conversation Heather + Candace are going to help you make sense of using those Boundary Lines to Draw Up Your Space.   “Where God has you is where Jesus is.” We gather at church but when we leave, we go into the world in different places and spaces that help define our purpose. We are made to bring Jesus to the natural places we go throughout our lives. If you were only in a space where you felt 100% safe and constantly comfortable, you could be missing out on God using you to reach the world in the ways He calls us to. Don’t miss out on the space He puts you in. Draw your space and discover your purpose through the Boundary Lines of Time, Place, Wiring and Experience.  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Heather discuss:  Moments they have seen the 4 Boundary Lines clarify their purpose  Ways you can bring an awareness of Jesus into your everyday life as you draw up your space  A current decision Candace is navigating; Heather guides her through the Boundary Lines to help bring clarity and direction to the decision  Head to Candace.com to download the FREE guide, and to order Heather’s latest book, Right Where You Belong.  For all things mentioned in this episode head over to  https://ccbpodcast.com/episodes/season-2/07 Thank you to this episode’s sponsors: AccessMore https://www.accessmore.com/
K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. Do your experiences in life provide clarity as you discover your purpose? YES! Absolutely.  Experiences shape your life + character. As you walk through different experiences, not only does your purpose become more clear, but your ability to sit with others during their life journey expands. You can hold hope for others when they feel hopeless and encourage them to the other side of that difficulty.  What about hard circumstances? How do they impact your purpose? Sometimes it feels easier to hold onto past situations that were difficult to go through, and are difficult to heal from. But by doing that, ultimately you hold yourself back from all God has for you, and the purpose He has for your life. You can allow your circumstances to shape you, in a positive or negative way.  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Heather discuss:  Moments in life they can look back on and see how God used their experiences for a greater purpose  Being able to sit with others in hard seasons because of going through difficult seasons  How experiences help you hold hope for someone else walking through life The importance of moving forward from your past situations, and not allowing them to hold you back from your future  Head to Candace.com to download the FREE guide, and to order Heather’s latest book, Right Where You Belong.  To hear more about Candace’s experience on Dancing With The Stars and how it shaped her, listen to Season 1, Episode 10.  For all things mentioned in this episode head over to  https://ccbpodcast.com/episodes/season-2/06 Thank you to this episode’s sponsors: AccessMore https://www.accessmore.com/

It is easy to desire to be like someone else or want a quality someone else might have that you do not, but living like someone else is not living out YOUR purpose. Your wiring is unique and God made you with that wiring for a greater reason.  When it comes to discovering your purpose, looking at your gifts and talents, strengths and weaknesses is the best place to start. Putting your energy into how you are wired will lead you towards discovering your identity and embracing your purpose.  If you don’t use your wiring to fuel your purpose, you are only half-living. And using your gifts will encourage others to discover theirs, and live their life on purpose and with a purpose. So … be you, and live your life through your unique wiring!  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Heather discuss:  Strengths + weaknesses; why they matter to how you are wired  How discovering your gifts and talents will help you discover your purpose  Being mislabeled and how that can sometimes be labeled a “problem” but is how you are wired  Feeling like you are sitting on the bench in life, and not part of the game but how cheering others on (or sitting on the bench) serves great purpose  Head to Candace.com to download the FREE guide, and to order Heather’s latest book, Right Where You Belong.  If you are curious about your Spiritual Gifts, take THIS test to learn more.  For all things mentioned in this episode head over to  https://ccbpodcast.com/episodes/season-2/05 Thank you to this episode’s sponsors:  AccessMore https://www.accessmore.com Boll and Branch https://www.bollandbranch.com Promo Code CANDACE

It can be challenging to establish new roots, build community, and find purpose when you are constantly moving. But one thing we can ALL do wherever we find ourselves is this: find purpose in it. Embrace the places in front of you; the ones you physically find yourself standing in every day. Whether that is inviting people into your home, helping your neighbors, talking to the mom pushing her stroller, or living life with others. When you show up to those places, you will discover your purpose. You are glazed over and your mind is elsewhere. Sound familiar?  Being present isn’t always easy. But it is valuable. If we can become more aware of being present, then we give room for God to use us to occupy the spaces and places we are in.  Time is a complex concept to understand and grasp but there is SUCH significance to this moment, right now, where you find yourself in life. There is a great purpose in the season you find yourself in.  We see our life in little chunks of time. God sees the full picture; our full timeline. Do we trust Him with that timeline? God will use the spaces you occupy to build your character and expand your perspective.  You may have heard this famous quote before: How you spend your minutes is how you spend your life. You don’t feel qualified (or sometimes comfortable) doing what God has called you to do in that season.  Success. It is a word that carries individual meaning and can change from season to season of life. But at the end of it all, success comes from a humble place of fully occupying your God-given space. Because it’s not about us, it’s about Him and His purpose. It’s not about us feeling qualified, it’s about who He is and how He works through us to fill the gaps.  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Heather discuss:  Moments in their life where the “definition of success” changed and how others around them responded to those changes Good advice, bad advice, right advice, and how we ultimately need to listen to God’s direction and wisdom  The difference (literally and biblically) between humble and humility  Trusting that God is doing something bigger in the assignments He gives you, that are not easy or comfortable  Head to Candace.com to download the FREE guide, and to order Heather’s latest book, Right Where You Belong.  For all things mentioned in this episode head over to  https://ccbpodcast.com/episodes/season-2/02 Thank you to this season's sponsors:  AccessMore https://www.accessmore.com/ One Share: My.OneShareHealth.com/Candace
K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. We have all struggled at some point to understand God’s will and purpose for our lives. And in different seasons, we may also feel like we are missing out, forgotten or doing less important work than what He has for us. That simply isn’t true!  God’s will is at work all the time and He invites us to join Him. We miss out on His will when we don’t accept those invitations. He gives us assignments in life that fulfill His will in our life and in our world.  God is inviting you to fulfill His purpose for your life in the assignments He is placing around you. You are not too young, too old, too late, and you don’t need to do it perfectly. You are right where you are supposed to be.  If you are in the middle of God’s will, you are never missing out, forgotten, or doing work that is less than. K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. Picture this: you are at a symphony and the musicians begin playing. But something sounds off, and you quickly realize that everyone is playing the same instrument and following the same note pattern. That wouldn’t be the most beautiful piece of music you listen to, right? Because what makes a symphony so beautiful is all the different instruments playing together using different melodies, harmonies, and notes that create a song.   The same can be said about the body of Christ. We are all part of the body of Christ; but if we all had the same gifts, talents, and skills we would be a robot instead of a body. Within the body of Christ we are all called to one mission: be like Jesus.  What does it mean to “be like Jesus?” Jesus said that we demonstrate Him to the world by loving people like He loves people. And the way He loved people was scandalous. It was counter cultural. He loved everyone as they were; including the people who were different from Him, enemies to the land He walked, and even the outcasts. He calls us to be a bridge builder to everyone; including those who are different from us. The best part is that there is always something we can learn from someone who doesn’t see the same way we do. It shouldn’t stop us from loving them well.  This conversation wraps up Season 1 with Candace and Tara-Leigh Cobble, but there is a BONUS episode available for those who purchase a ticket to the live event on February 16 (whether in person or via livestream). You can still grab a ticket and get the bonus episode!  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Tara-Leigh discuss:  Tara-Leigh’s favorite site in Israel (it’s not what you would expect!).  What it means to be like Jesus and how we can be more like Him by loving others well.  Moments in scripture where Jesus loved others in ways that were counter cultural.  Being a Christian and what keeps them coming back, despite experiencing wounds from others.  Scripture Memory of the Season:  1 John 5:1-6 (CSB) Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of him. This is how we know that we love God’s children; when we love God and obey His commands. For this is what love for God is: to keep His commands. And His commands are not a burden, because everyone who has been born of God conquers the world. This is the victory that has conquered the world: our faith. Who is the one who conquers the world, but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? Jesus Christ--he is the one who came by water and blood, not by water only, but by water and by blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. We are created in the image of God. We are recreated through the Holy Spirit at work within us to become more like Jesus. Simply put, we are born again; we are transformed. Our desire to be more like Jesus can only come from God because we cannot change our heart, only He can.  God uses His Word, the Spirit, and those around us to reveal more of who He is to us, so that we can become more like Jesus. Are there people in your life God uses to show you who He is? Maybe it’s a friend who, while walking through a really hard season, exudes unexplainable joy. Or maybe it’s through a conversation with someone at the grocery, who displays kindness toward you.  Tara-Leigh and Candace hope that through this episode you continue to hunger after a relationship with God AND that He drops people in your life that reveal more of who He is to you. May He bring Debbie’s into your garage door to bring your cookies (you have to listen to understand!).  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Tara-Leigh discuss:  Being born again is not a weird thing, it is a spiritual transformation that God does within us so we can be more like Jesus.  How the Word, the Spirit, and people in our life work to show us more of who God is.  People in their lives who showed them more of who God is, and how it has shaped their faith.  Scripture Memory of the Season:  1 John 5:1-6 (CSB) Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of him. K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. Have you prayed for something and God said no? We all have (if we are honest). We have all prayed for something or someone, and the outcome is not what we wanted or expected. The truth is, if when we come to God with our prayers and expect Him to work the outcome in the way we want, we treat God like He is a vending machine. Prayer isn’t transactional, it is relational. It isn’t about getting what we want, it’s about getting God.  Sometimes we get a no, that is true. But that does not mean that God is displeased with you. His no is often the kindest possible answer He can give to you. Throughout the Bible, we see God say no to heroes of the faith; David, Paul, and even Jesus. But look at how God not only blessed them, but used them. So if you get a no from God, you are in good company.  Join Candace and Tara-Leigh as they share vulnerable moments about their life through this conversation around prayer and hearing no from God.  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Tara-Leigh discuss:  The difference between a transactional prayer and a relational prayer.  When Jesus got a no from the Father and how important that moment is to understand when it comes to your prayer life and relationship with Him.  How no is often God’s kindest possible answer, and often the answer we are grateful for in hindsight.  What the landscape of Candace’s prayers look like.  The moment that Candace recognized divorce was a no from God (through an honest conversation with her kids).  Scripture Memory of the Season:  1 John 5:1-5 (CSB) Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of him. K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. Prayer is a conversation with God that He desires to have with us. He is never too busy for us, never bothered by our requests or prayers, and certainly is not bored when we talk to Him. When we pray, God is always there, always listening, and always receiving.  Prayer is a place where all 3 persons of The Trinity are at work. When we pray, we are talking to the Father, through Jesus (because of the connection He made possible for us), and the Holy Spirit is empowering us in and through prayer.  Two common questions people ask when it comes to prayer are:  How do I pray?  Why do I need to pray to God when He knows everything?  In today’s episode, Candace and Tara-Leigh dig into those two questions, and more. If you don’t know how to pray or feel like you aren’t good at praying, or you feel like you don’t understand why prayer matters – take a breath and rest easy. Let’s go on this journey together!  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Tara-Leigh discuss:  Prayer as a conversation with the Trinity and how that perspective of prayer will challenge the way we pray.  How prayer can be taught or developed; it is a skill Jesus taught His disciples and can teach us too.  What “in Jesus name, Amen” actually means and the power it carries when we pray.  Moments in their lives where they have seen their prayers answered (in ways they desired and in ways they did not expect).  Tips for listening and meditating in silence with God; it may be difficult but it is  powerful.  Scripture Memory of the Season:  1 John 5:1-5 (CSB) Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of him. This is how we know that we love God’s children; when we love God and obey His commands. For this is what love for God is: to keep His commands. K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. God’s never going to give you more than you can handle” – it is really easy to look at punchy one-liners like this one on social media and take them as the whole truth. But do you measure them against God’s word before you take them as the whole truth? The Spirit calls us to use The Word as a measuring stick for truth. He is our guide and gives us wisdom as we walk through life.  The Spirit is meant to bring clarity to us and teach us. All throughout scripture, the Spirit clarifies who Jesus is and points back to the truth (the Son and the Father) teaching us how to be more like Him.  Colossians 3 says to put on attributes like kindness, compassion, patience, gentleness, and more). It is not easy to do everyday, but it is a choice we make everyday day. And if we practice it enough it becomes a habit. By surrendering to the Spirit’s work in us, He will enable us to walk in those attributes, lean into His wisdom, and walk in His Spirit.  The Spirit produces the fruit in us but that takes time. The more time you spend with the Spirit, the more you are nourished and grow. When we get frustrated that we don’t feel we are growing it is easy to be discouraged and bow out. But God is still at work within you. Don’t lose hope. He is developing the fruit in you. Be patient with yourself; He is patient with you.  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Tara-Leigh discuss:  The importance of measuring everything against the Word of God.  How we are unified as the body of Christ because of The Spirit.  Learning from others with different opinions is healthy for you and your faith.  Why kindness is so important to Candace and the story behind her book “Kind Is The New Classy”  The Fruit of the Spirit – and how it is ONE fruit with 9 attributes, not 9 different fruits.  The difference between a transactional and relational partnership with the Spirit.  Scripture Memory of the Season:  1 John 5:1-4 (CSB) Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of him. This is how we know that we love God’s children; when we love God and obey His commands. For this is what love for God is: to keep His commands. K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. Who is the Holy Spirit? This is such a common question that is asked when it comes to fully understanding The Trinity. The Holy Spirit is the most mysterious (and sometimes confusing) within the triad. Before Jesus went back to Heaven, He said “I am sending the Spirit who is better than me.” Better than Jesus? That doesn’t sound right. But it is. The Holy Spirit is not a force or power used by God. He is a person who has responsibilities and characteristics that help guide us through life. And Jesus knew we needed Him.  Candace and Tara-Leigh sit down and dive into the mystery of The Holy Spirit in hopes of helping us understand who He is and how He works in us. They also share personal stories from their faith journey; and Candace talks about the time her husband baptized her in the ocean (grab your tissues! It’s a beautiful story).  As you listen to this conversation, we hope you are inspired to take your relationship with God deeper through The Holy Spirit. Did you know you can read your Bible in ONE year just by reading for 12 minutes a day? That makes studying God’s word more, seem possible.  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Tara-Leigh discuss:  Building good habits (especially with reading and studying your Bible).  The moment Candace began to understand and desire to read the Bible. Who The Holy Spirit is and how He fits into The Trinity.  Baptism; what it is and why it is important to your walk with Jesus.  Scripture Memory of the Season:  1 John 5:1-4 (CSB) Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of him. Candace is BACK with Tara-Leigh Cobble to continue their conversation on the connection between God and Jesus (pssst … He is still the same person) Think about this: if Jesus were not God, but was just a man, how would that change the way you live? You likely may stop seeing Jesus as Divine and see as a man who was a bit crazy at times; as a man who ran around claiming to be God, the fulfillment of the Old Testament. And you likely would not place as much weight into what He says or how He guides you.  Candace and Tara-Leigh discuss that the idea that God of the Universe, who created everything, came to us in human form to save us. God desires a relationship with us and he wants us to flourish in life. He sent His son so that we could flourish. Everything that Jesus teaches us is for our joy, our thriving, and our flourishing. And when we live life knowing HIs love for us and how much He cares for us, that will pour out onto those around us.  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Tara-Leigh discuss:  Why the birth of Jesus is just as important as the death of Jesus  The moments in the New Testament where Jesus revealed Himself and moments He did not, and why He chose to withhold who He was to certain groups. A moment in Candace’s life where she had to push through her anger and lean into Christ-like humility. What Dancing With The Stars taught Candace about how much God picks us up and guides us through hard seasons.  Scripture Memory of the Season:  1 John 5:1-3 (CSB) Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of him. K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. Have you ever read through the Old Testament and thought, “Oh mylanta! I cannot wait for Jesus to show up. These stories are hard to read.”  What if we told you that Jesus was just as present in those stories as He was in the miracles of the New Testament? Many people (including Christians) believe that Jesus didn’t arrive on the scene until His recorded birth in the gospels. But that simply isn’t true. Jesus has always existed, He wasn’t created by God. He played an integral role in Creation and was present through every moment of history.  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Tara-Leigh discuss:  Which translations of the Bible are most accurate to the original text.  Understanding how Jesus is God which means Jesus always existed and was not created by God.  Their bucket list; what they have done and what they still wish to do in life.  Scripture Memory of the Season: 1 John 5:1-3 (CSB) Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of him. K-LOVE Books are available wherever you by books. God is a GOOD Father who is never disappointed in you *gasp*  He is grieved by our sins, but never disappointed. Because to be disappointed He has to be let down by an unmet expectation, and He has no expectations of us. When we sin, God does not run from us, He runs to us and dwells with us. The whole point of the Bible is God’s love story to us and His goodness + kindness are reflected all throughout it. And He funnels who He is through The Trinity.  In this episode, you will hear Candace and Tara-Leigh discuss:  The fear of God and how it consists of delight and awe – it draws us to Him, not from Him.  Why it is important to draw closer to God in seasons of trial AND abundance.   How God's kindness and attention to detail reflects just how GOOD of a Father He is.  Scripture Memory of the Season: 1 John 5:1-2 (CSB) Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of him. He was Father before He was Creator. Do you see Him as your Father? You can know about God the Father intellectually, but struggle to receive it depending on your perspective and experience with earthly fathers. God wants to Father you in the way that you should be (and desire to be) fathered.   In this episode, you will hear Candace and Tara-Leigh discuss:  The distinction between God the Creator and God the Father.  God’s “no” to something in your life is actually God’s kindest, most protective answer for your life.  How the Trinity carries unified will and character, even in their individual personas.   Scripture Memory of the Season: 1 John 5:1-2 (CSB) Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of him. In today’s conversation, Candace and Tara-Leigh dive deep into the love of God; to understand His love we must understand the Trinity. He is always who He has been and He always will be. Because the lens through which we read scripture is a game changer to our faith journey.
