Madeline starts out by telling a scary story of how Bugs almost died recently by eating a candy cane off the Christmas tree. After it was lodged in her throat (plastic and all), Madeline rushed her to the vet where she was fed four courses of charcoal and seen by poison control. A large heap of money later, Bugs is thankfully now back to normal. Madeline also shares that she is against the idea of traditional New Year’s resolutions as she believes that resolutions are a toxic mindset. She thinks that you should instead have daily or monthly resolutions and goals that you should think about every day of the year rather than just once per year. Madeline’s first goal for 2024 is to start actually using her gym membership. She admits that the only reason she has gone to the gym this year was to use the gym shower while hers was broken. Madeline’s next few goals for the year include cooking for herself, writing in her diary again, and no longer lying to her therapist.
