The Squeeze
The Squeeze

When life gives you lemons, what do you do with them? Over here at The Squeeze—we talk about it—"it" being our mental health and well being. Host Taylor Lautner's (no, not that guy, but she is married to that guy) introduction to mental health was at a young age, witnessing friends and family suffer in ways she couldn't fully understand. She started a nursing career in the peak of the pandemic and has been struggling with her own mental health ever since. Tay is joined co-host, husband Taylor Lautner, in addition to celebrity and expert guests to further the conversation surrounding mental wellness. At the end of the day, we're all pretty similar; even those living in the lime-est of lights can be weighed down by sour lemons. In addition to sharing coping strategies and stories, we hope that above all, this podcast offers the comfort of knowing you are not alone.

TW: Sexual Assault and MiscarriageIn this week’s episode, the Lautners are joined by Selling Sunset star Mary Bonnet! To start off, Mary opens up about the challenges of being an introvert in the public eye and how she sets boundaries between what she shares with the world and what she keeps private. She discusses her decision to write her memoir, Selling Sunshine, and reflects on her journey through motherhood, from getting pregnant at 15 to facing the heartbreak of miscarriage. Mary also shares how EMDR therapy and other mental health tools have supported her through difficult times, and reveals what she’s most proud of in herself through all of the highs and lows!Be sure to find Mary on Instagram! https://instagram.com/themarybonnet/Preorder 'Selling Sunshine' here: https://www.harpercollins.com/pages/SellingSunshineTo email us your questions or share your story, you can reach out to lautner.thesqueezepodcast@gmail.comBe sure to rate, review, and follow the podcast so you don't miss an episode! For the first time ever, The Lautners welcome back a past guest, Dr. Amen, for another conversation on mental wellness, this time for children. Whether you’re a parent, want to be a parent, or have no desire to be a parent, Dr. Amen offers insight into relationships and development that we’re certain you can apply to your life in some way. This week’s episode of Squeezon 2 (shoutout to Boy Tay for that pun) features two highly requested guests who also happen to be family; Makena Moore (formerly Lautner) and her husband Jacob Moore! We’ve heard the story of how Tay & Taylor came to be from their own perspective, but what does their matchmaker Makena recall from the early days of their relationship? And, what made her believe her new friend Tay would be a potential match for her brother? She’s answering these questions and sharing what went down behind the scenes. While Makena and Taylor clearly have a close sibling bond, that doesn’t mean that Taylor’s fame was easy to navigate for his younger sister. Makena opens up about the not-so-shiny parts of having a famous brother and how his success has affected her own identity. Jake and Makena also open up about their very own love story and their baby boy Breckon who has forever altered their lives (and their aunt and uncle’s lives!). Parenthood changes things (to say the least), and Makena and Jake open up about Makena’s postpartum depression and why she’s decided to change the way mamas look for answers to their many questions. There are plenty of laughs and also some tears as these four let the Lemon Drops into the intimate inner workings of their family.  Be sure to follow @mrsmakenamoore @mrjbmoore and check out @mysupportingmamas & www.mysupportingmamas.com   Thanks to our awesome sponsors for supporting this episode:  Ritual - Get 40% off your first month for a limited time at ritual.com/THESQUEEZE. Happy New Year, Lemon Drops! We are starting Season 2 off with a bang as the Lautners are sitting down with actress and Dancing with the Stars champion, Xochitl Gomez. Xochitl dives into the importance of surrounding herself with a great group of friends whom she leans on whenever she needs a positive distraction and how setting healthy boundaries has helped her to worry less about things that are outside of her control. He shares his approaches to navigating anxiety, and together they discuss how anxiety can enhance relationships and contribute to self-awareness, resilience, and spirituality. They also discuss his advice on setting boundaries with family during the holiday season, and supporting loved ones during difficult times. Tay & Taylor have been long-time fans of today’s guest, so they’re excited to hear from the musician himself as he opens up about his mental health, his songwriting process, and his daily life with OCD and ADHD. Alec Benjamin didn’t find music until high school, but once he did his life was forever changed. He shares several stories of how he first discovered that his brain worked a little differently and how as a result, trying to fit into the system that society has setup has not come easy. Once he learned to open up through his music, a whole new set of mental health struggles came about: navigating life on tour, dealing with immediate audience feedback, and constantly facing the pressure of success. The Lautners and Alec talk about how exercise and therapy are two tools that they all turn to in order to manage their mental health. Plus, the Lautners hear how OCD affects Alec’s day to day, the surprising cover song you won’t be able to find online, and how he came up with his new song: I Sent My Therapist To Therapy.  Be sure to follow @alecbenjamin and check out the music video for I Sent My Therapist To Therapy  Thanks to our awesome sponsors for supporting this episode:  Article —Go to ARTICLE.COM/THESQUEEZE for $50 off your first purchase of $100 or more  SKIMS — The Fits Everybody collection and more perfect-fit essentials are available now at SKIMS.com. She attributes her mental health struggles to the show, and shares with your hosts when she first discovered she was suffering from anxiety. Our next guest has spent far too much time defending her character, so The Lautners wanted to give her time to show the world who she is, independent of all the noise. In this interview Georgia Hassarati opens up about things she’s never discussed publicly, including what it was like being raised by a single mother with bipolar disorder. She also discusses her career as a midwife; something not many people know about but is a huge passion of hers. She speaks about her experience being cast on Too Hot to Handle, going back to midwifery after wrapping the show, then being launched into the chaos that ensued following her second reality TV appearance on Perfect Match. She shares the boundaries and steps she took to manage her mental health that got her through these experiences and the frenzy of false accusations. Lastly, she offers an update on her dating life and what you can expect to see from her next.  Follow Georgia @georgiahassarati  Thanks to our awesome sponsors for supporting this episode:  Jenni Kayne — Find your forever pieces @jennikayne and get 15% off with promo code THESQUEEZE at jennikayne.com/THESQUEEZE! #jennikaynepartner  Article — Go to ARTICLE.COM/THESQUEEZE for $50 off your first purchase of $100 or more  Quince — Go to Quince.com/thesqueeze for free shipping on your order and 365-day returns  To email us your questions or share your story, you can reach out to lautner.thesqueezepodcast@gmail.com. Then, Taylor shares some notes he took from Sadie Robertson’s LO Sister Conference, where Tay spoke on a mental health panel! They also dive into Tea Time with Tay(s), which has them talking about the podcast, how many kids they want, their most favorite thing: their dogs, and more! The Lautners are then joined by 3 very special guests, Tay’s friends, to introduce a new segment “Sweet and Sour,” where they discuss the most controversial of topics, such as dating apps and if pineapple belongs on pizza. This week the Lautners have the honor of sitting down with Victor and Libby Boyce, parents of child star Cameron Boyce, who passed away in 2019 from SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy). They offer an inside look at the incredible life Cameron led and the legacy he left behind. They explain how and when epilepsy became part of their lives and how Cameron wasn’t considered epileptic until his second seizure. This is one of their many frustrations with the medical system, which failed to arm them. Their main message in coming on the podcast today is to take an epilepsy diagnosis seriously. There is a lack of information about epilepsy, despite there being so many different types and it being one of the most common neurological conditions. They were never even informed of SUDEP, the complication that took their son’s life. They talk about The Cameron Boyce Foundation, with the mission of raising awareness of epilepsy, discuss their grieving process, share what the outpouring of love has felt like, and offer advice on what to say to someone who has lost a loved one.   Cameron lives on through his sister, parents, friends, and The Cameron Boyce Foundation. We urge other people of influence to speak out if they suffer from epilepsy, and encourage you to check out the foundation to learn more about the disorder: www.thecameronboycefoundation.org  Thanks to our awesome sponsors for supporting this episode:  GreenChef — Go to GreenChef.com/60thesqueeze and use code 60thesqueeze to get 60% off plus free shipping  Earth Breeze — Subscribe to Earth Breeze and save 40%! The man, the myth, the ledge — singer-songwriter and all around incredible human Harry Hudson joins the Lautners today to discuss his cancer journey, the importance of music in his life, and his charity, Hey, I'm Here For You. Harry was diagnosed with cancer the same week he turned 20, and he discusses the existential brain shifts that occurred as he processed his reality and embraced death. He attributes music to saving his life and talks about the intersection of music and mental health when used as a healing tool. He speaks to the psychological toll of being released from the hospital free of cancer and being unsure how to process what you’ve just been through, as well as feeling like he wasn’t allowed to be sad. Harry also lost his father at 23, and shares how, while he embraced death for himself, he wasn’t prepared for it to happen to someone else. Lastly, he talks about the inspiration and mission for his charity, Hey, I’m Here For You, which helps enhance the lives of teens and young adults undergoing cancer treatment.  Thanks to our amazing sponsors for supporting this episode:  Quince — Go to Quince.com/thesqueeze for free shipping on your order and 365-day returns  Osea — For a limited time, you can get 10% off with our code LEMONDROPS at https://rb.gy/uhjdx  Beam — If you want to try Beam’s best-selling Dream Powder, get up to 40% off for a limited time when you go to shopbeam.com/THESQUEEZE and use code THESQUEEZE at checkout To email us your questions or share your story, you can reach out to lautner.thesqueezepodcast@gmail.com. The Taylor Lautners are back for another jam-packed solo episode, kicking off with a Twilight-era Cit-rus Got Real about fish eyes (long story, stay tuned). Taylor takes a moment to talk about Tay’s "Jimmy Darts" moment this week, which then leads your hosts to talk about the importance of gratitude. Tay opens up about her first EMDR session and the realization that she hasn’t yet processed what she went through in 2020. They also dive into your Tea Time with Tay questions, where they discuss their experience being long-distance, balancing quality and personal time together, and where they would go if they knew they wouldn’t be recognized. We heard you loud and clear Lemon Drops, so we’re bringing you more solo episodes! This week your hosts sit back, relax, and enjoy some tea time with Tay(s). They cover everything (and we mean everything) from friendship bracelets to ferocious turtles. Before they dive into all your questions, they also take a moment to talk about the importance of self-care and the scope of what that really means. It’s not always a spa day—it means truly caring for yourself, even if sometimes, that means having an uncomfortable conversation. Tay opens up about a new self-care strategy from her EMDR therapist, and a moment of insecurity she had at the Eras Tour and how she talked herself through it. Then they answer your burning questions, including which songs from 1989 (Taylor’s Version) they’re most excited for, which The Summer I Turned Pretty boy they’re rooting for, and a funny memory of the two of them that takes them back all the way to their 6-month anniversary. TW: suicide  Drafted third overall in 2017, Solomon Thomas knows what it’s like to have a target on his back. His true battles, however, have never been on the field but in trying to dismantle archaic stigmas around mental health while working through the grief of his sister’s suicide. He talks about growing up with his older sister Ella, how close he was to his family, and when they first noticed Ella was struggling. He stresses the importance of checking in on your strong friends and discusses his journey with his own mental health. He explains how therapy has allowed him to put into words feelings that he didn’t even have the language for as he navigates his journey with grief. The three discuss what mental health looks like in the world of the NFL and the positive changes Solomon has seen since his rookie year. He explains why whole health is important to him as an athlete, and discusses his non-profit, The Defensive Line, on a mission to end the epidemic of youth suicide, especially for people of color.  Be sure to keep up with Solomon @sollythomas90 and check out The Defensive Line  If you or someone you love is struggling with suicidal thoughts, we beg you to seek support.   Call: Lifeline 1800 273 8255 (USA Only)  Text: CNQR to 741 741 Crisis Text Line (USA Only)  Visit: www.suicide.org (International Phone Numbers)  You can also find resources, including BetterHelp, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, National Suicide Prevention Hotline, and more at www.lemonsbytay.com/resources  Thanks to our sponsors for supporting this episode:  Blissy — Get better sleep now with Blissy and use code THESQUEEZE to get an additional 30% off at blissy.com/THESQUEEZE  Mosh — Head to moshlife.com/THESQUEEZE to save 20% off plus FREE shipping on your first 6-count Trial Pack  To email us your questions or share your story, you can reach out to lautner.thesqueezepodcast@gmail.com. *This episode was recorded prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike and our team was given approval by SAG to release it.  Actress Sasha Pieterse joins the Lautners to discuss her journey with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), the entertainment industry, and motherhood. Her and Taylor reminisce on their time filming Shark Boy and Lava Girl together and the multi-generational fan base that continues to this day. Sasha then explains what exactly PCOS is, her battle to be diagnosed, and the miracle that was getting pregnant—not only because PCOS is a huge component of infertility, but because her son then miraculously regulated her hormones. In addition to that, she has also become the most confident she’s ever been from being a mom, with other people’s opinions being so low on her priority list. She discusses why she and her husband suspect they’re “one and done” when it comes to children, and the importance of making her marriage her first priority. Lastly, she discusses where the idea for Women In The Nude, her new podcast, came from. TW: addiction, grief and loss  Your hosts are both massive fans of this week’s guest, musician and singer JP Saxe. The episode is full of energy and insight, as JP starts off by inquiring if the Lautners find navigating enmeshment more challenging by their shared name. The three then dive into love and conflict languages and the importance of being malleable to your partners’ styles. JP talks about his childhood, including the blessings he’s discovered from not being popular at a young age and his journey of defining masculinity in his own terms. Taylor also opens up about the struggles he faced when playing Jacob and the pressure he felt to portray a perfect life. The three then discuss feelings of being a burden to your partner, bullying, and being an only child—something girl Tay and JP have in common! JP opens up about growing up in a house suffering from addiction, and explains his journey with loss and grief to Taylor, who has not yet experienced any sort of family loss. He also shares the series of decisions that made him realize it was time to start therapy and the role songwriting has played in his healing journey.  Be sure to follow JP @jpsaxe  Thanks to our sponsor for supporting this episode:  Ice Barrel — Go to IceBarrel.com/THESQUEEZE for $150 off your order  To email us your questions or share your story, you can reach out to lautner.thesqueezepodcast@gmail.com. Dr. Sasha is a psychiatrist specializing in ADHD who has ADHD herself. Today she joins your hosts to discuss her journey with the diagnosis, med school, and becoming a parent. Dr. Sasha breaks down the three hallmark features of ADHD and the various ways they can present themselves. She explains how she stopped taking her medication when she went off to school and felt like she had a stroke as she fell to the bottom of her class—by a lot. Her and her father then dove into ADHD research so she could fully understand what was going on. She explains the shocking gap in the average age of diagnosis between genders, and how people (especially women) can be diagnosed with anxiety or depression in place of ADHD because of their symptoms. She offers advice to parents potentially facing a diagnosis and emphasizes the importance of recognizing your own patterns. She also touches on ADHD and dating/relationships, and discusses her book and ADHD management app to help people with ADHD.  Follow Dr. Sasha on Instagram and TikTok @thepsychdoctormd and check out her book, Self-Care for People with ADHD 100+ Ways to Recharge, De-Stress, and Prioritize You! Let’s go back to the beginning (of the podcast and the love story!) with another solo episode where the Lautners offer a look into the beginning of their relationship. Before they get started, Taylor addresses a video he posted on social media about some rude comments he came across and wants to set the record straight on his intention in posting it. They then get into audience questions! The most popular question by far has to do with the reality of a “famous person” dating a “normal person” so your hosts take a deep dive into keeping their relationship private, when they felt ready to go public, Tay’s first introductions to the industry and the first-class lifestyle, and the hardest moment that has resulted from being in a public relationship. They also tackle a few rapid-fire questions, such as if their astrological signs are accurate, who kissed who first, and what Tay’s parents thought of her dating a celebrity! Lastly, Taylor walks us through his proposal-planning process. Let us know what you think of the episode, and if we should do more solo shows in the future!  Thanks to our awesome sponsors!  Cozy Earth — Go to cozyearth.com and use the code THESQUEEZE for up to 35% off sitewide   Cymbiotika — Visit cymbiotika.com and use code THESQUEEZE for 15% off sitewide  To email us your questions or share your story, you can reach out to lautner.thesqueezepodcast@gmail.com. He explains the motivation behind creating Cymbiotika and his desire to help people achieve optimal health. Chervin criticizes both the pharmaceutical industry and the supplement world, and proposes Cymbiotika as a way to help with a problem we shouldn’t even have in the first place. After returning from a long European trip, your hosts are thrilled to be back in the interview chair talking to social media star and mental health advocate, Lexi Hensler. Lexi is open about her struggles with anxiety and depression from a very young age and talks to the Lautners about what helps her manage it all. She also talks about her bucket list, something she came up with when she was in the hospital with an infection that resulted in organ failure and a panic attack disorder. Lexi is out to destigmatize the conversation around mental health, and one of the amazing ways she is doing that is through her weighted stuffed animal company, Hugz. Lexi talks about her biggest goal for the company, discusses her relationship with social media, and shares her love for Oprah. Plus, the three bond over their love of dogs and the value they bring to your life, especially on the hard days. Lexi’s message is loud and clear: please keep holding on and know it does get better. If you find yourself struggling with your mental health, please reach out for help. Today, they are joined by dream guest Zac Clark, founder and CEO of Release Recovery, a full-service substance use disorder and mental health organization that offers transitional living, interventions, case management, and other essential family and recovery support services. This episode is very personal, as Zac shares his history with addiction, rehab, and recovery, and Tay shares more about her family’s experience with addiction. Zac discusses his time in the hospital after being diagnosed with a brain tumor, and how that inevitably furthered his addiction. The three discuss the importance of boundaries, advocating for men’s mental health, and Narcan. Zac also touches on the incredible work Release Recovery and the Release Recovery Foundation are doing to offer support to those struggling and break the stigma around addiction and mental health.  This episode is dedicated to Chris and anyone out there suffering from addiction, or loving someone suffering from addiction. First, they discuss their recent visit to NYC, where they recreated their first date, as well as their first impressions of one another and any “red flags" they were cautious of. Natalie, like Tay, works in healthcare (as a surgical technician) and wasn't in the spotlight prior to her relationship with Nick. They discuss the scrutiny that comes from dating someone in the public eye and supporting someone struggling with their mental health. Nick and Natalie also share the value they’ve found in couples therapy to help them stay connected, and Natalie opens up about past traumas resurfacing and her experience with EMDR therapy. Olympic champion Nastia Liukin joins the Lautners to discuss rebuilding yourself after success at a young age and the pressure that comes with competing at the highest level of a sport centered around perfection. Despite being gymnasts themselves, Nastia’s parents tried everything to keep her away from the sport, but her passion and talent were undeniable. Nastia talks about the effects of achieving her “life-long” dream at age 18 and the years trying to find her identity following her “retirement”. She speaks to her 2007 injury and the toll it took on her confidence, as well as falling on her face—a fall she calls the defining moment of her career, and a fall that earned her a standing ovation for the first time. Nastia also discusses her time on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, and talks about the Nastia Liukin Cup, an annual competition offering gymnasts an opportunity to be mentored and to feel proud of their accomplishments—a joy Nastia says shouldn’t be reserved for just the 5 girls on the Olympic team.  Be sure to follow Nastia @nastialiukin and check out nastialiukincup.com  Thanks to our awesome sponsor for making this episode possible:   Babbel — Go to babbel.com/thesqueeze to get up to 60% off your subscription  To email us your questions or share your story, you can reach out to lautner.thesqueezepodcast@gmail.com.  Be sure to rate, review, and follow the podcast so you don't miss an episode! TW: restrictive eating disorder, self-harm, suicidal ideation  At a quick glance, you may recognize Hyram Yarbro as a skincare influencer, popular on YouTube and TikTok. After today’s conversation, we believe you’ll see him as so much more. Coming from a career in the makeup industry as a skincare specialist, cosmetic salesman, and makeup artist, Hyram had a real grasp on what people were spending their money on, as well as the lack of education for the regular consumer. Today, he opens up about his childhood trauma, including not being accepted by his family for being gay. This experience led him to face mental health challenges, but he is grateful for it nonetheless, as it made him stronger. He explains how his childhood was experienced through a survivalist mindset, and once he finally stepped away, he truly felt the magnitude of his pain. As John Green wrote, “pain demands to be felt.” Hyram also shares what prompted him to start his skincare brand and the importance to him of doing something in the industry that would create a philanthropic affect. His products have a direct and measurable social impact. To date, he has been able to protect over 300, 000 acres of rainforest from deforestation and provide over 8, 000 people with clean water—for 50 years. This conversation radiates with love and kindness, and we hope you will join us in supporting Hyram’s incredible efforts.  Visit selflessbyhyram.com and be sure to follow @hyram on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Today’s episode of The Squeeze feels like grabbing coffee with an old friend. Taylor was busy this day so Tay caught up with Bachelor star Cassie Randolph, who she’s actually never met! The Lautners are friends with her sister, Michelle, and knew they’d love Cassie just the same. Cassie opens up about going through such a public breakup, and the two discuss going from living a normal life to being thrust into the public eye. Cassie shares that she was naive going into reality TV, and that social media has been the biggest adjustment for her, hearing mean comments directly, and feeling them personally. She speaks about having her family as her support system after the show, and the denim line she created with her sister, LNDN (named after her brother). She shares her biggest takeaway as a new entrepreneur, and also shares what she’s hoping to do in the field of speech pathology. At such a young age, today’s guest has already accomplished more than most do in their entire life. Sadie Robertson Huff rose to fame on her family’s reality show, Duck Dynasty, followed by finishing runner-up on Dancing with the Stars. She joins your hosts to discuss her journey battling fear and anxiety. Sadie speaks to the stress of living a hypocritical lifestyle—one where she looks perfect on social media but struggles with herself and her romantic relationship. Knowing God was with her, Sadie began to push back on her fears and went viral with a stripped-down YouTube video showing the world who she really was, "imperfections" and all. Sadie also opens up to the Lautners about motherhood: how it has helped her with things like body image but how new things, like mom guilt, have been challenging. She shares the story behind the name of one of her books and her ministry, Live Original, and then one of our Lemon 11 questions exposes the story behind her podcast name, WHOA That’s Good. For Sadie, so many things in her life changed when she learned to not let fear call the shots. We hope that this episode inspires you to lean into your fear and Live Original — just like Sadie. You can follow Sadie on Instagram @legitsadierob, and be sure to check out liveoriginal.com for books, events, and more.   To email us your questions or share your story, you can reach out to lautner.thesqueezepodcast@gmail.com.  Be sure to rate, review, and follow the podcast so you don't miss an episode! Cheaper by the Dozen fans and dancers... this one’s for you. Finally having the chance to reconnect, Taylor introduces Tay to Alyson Stoner, and the two discuss their time working together and growing up in the industry. Alyson explains how there was no way for her to understand the long-term implications as a child, including how parts of her did not get a chance to fully develop. She shares how the industry affected how she understood connection: what became to her a cycle of a deep bond, followed repeatedly by a “deep break”. Tay, our resident optimist, asks Alyson if there is something about the industry she loves, which pivots the conversation to her relationship with dance and movement. She dives into what dance means to her and what she hopes to achieve through Movement Genius, her all in 1 subscription platform that takes care of your mind, body, and emotions. Alyson also speaks to what wellness means to her, and how she’s hoping to offer a space for wellness in the most authentic, inclusive fashion. At the end of this episode, we learn that if Alyson could go back in time, she would alter the course of her life and never have entered the spotlight. Would Taylor do the same? Like the rest of America, Tay and Taylor instantly feel in love with Paradise couple Brandon and Serene, and knew they needed to have them on the podcast. This week, they join the Lautners to discuss their mental health before and during filming. Brandon talks about his experience hiring for travel nurse recruiting during COVID, and the toll that took on his mental health. He also opens up about losing a very close friend and his grandfather. While he acknowledges that society encourages men to push down and cover up their feelings, he and the Lautners are here to change that narrative. Serene opens up about the loss of her grandma, aunt, and cousin, and why her 1 on 1 date in Galveston brought up so many emotions. Brandon and Serene also touch on the pressure they feel to stay together and what they do when life hands them lemons … which may be different than you think! TW: depression  Olympic champion Lindsey Vonn, one of the most successful female alpine skiers in the history of the sport, joins your hosts today to discuss her mental health journey and her unbelievable longevity in the sport. Lindsey explains that her injuries gave her a renewed perspective each time, and she never felt she worked a day in her life. Of her unparalleled accomplishments, she shares which one meant the most, and talks about her decision to retire, which was ultimately made for her by her body. She speaks to her mental health while she was injured and following her retirement, and the emotional support she finds from her dogs. The three discuss the false notion that success equates to happiness, and your hosts applaud Lindsey for being so open about her depression. Lindsey discusses the Lindsey Vonn Foundation, empowering underserved girls with scholarships and programs, and what’s in store for the future. Lastly, Lindsey tackles the Lemon 11 segment, diving into the dangers of social media, the value of finding the type of therapy that works for you, and, potentially, a dog podcast? We’re in.  Be sure to follow Lindsey @lindseyvonn and visit lindseyvonnfoundation.org  Thanks to our amazing sponsor for making this episode possible: Farmer's Dog — Get 50% off your first box of fresh, healthy food at TheFarmersDog.com/thesqueeze. This week your hosts welcome their first guest … Hannah Brown! They kick off the episode with a new segment, Cit-rus (sh*t-just) Got Real, and then dive into Hannah’s experience releasing her book, God Bless This Mess: Learning to Live and Love Through Life’s Best (and Worst) Moments. Hannah explains that the first time she was really asked about her feelings was when she was on The Bachelor, and while that was a great experience for her, being The Bachelorette was much more challenging. Hannah also presents her metaphor of the “scary closet” as she’s working on organizing and processing what has impacted her throughout her life. She talks with the Lautners about intention vs. impact (especially when communicating with your partner), her time on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, and finding her footing in the world of social media. At The Squeeze, we're all about intentional conversation, and Hannah offers just that in today's episode as she opens up about her mental health journey.  Be sure to check out Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test Wednesdays on FOX at 9/8c, and follow Hannah, @hannahbrown!  Thanks to our amazing sponsor for making this episode possible: Farmer's Dog — Get 50% off your first box of fresh, healthy food at TheFarmersDog.com/thesqueeze. TW: body dysmorphia   In this episode, Tay Lautner interviews her husband and co-host, actor Taylor Lautner, as the two discuss growing up in the limelight, body image, and men’s mental health. They touch on Taylor’s hiatus from the entertainment industry and explain why fame felt like a drug to him; one that would be healthier to abstain from, but would be rough before it got better. All of his wife Tay's experiences with mental health struggles prior to her own were with men in her life, so it is important to both of your hosts to destigmatize and openly discuss men’s mental health. In particular, the two touch on body image battles, an issue often attributed to only women, and offer words of encouragement for the men out there struggling. Lastly, Taylor tackles the Lemon 11 segment, during which he opens up about his massive misinterpretation of “that” moment at the 2009 VMAs. When life gives you lemons, what do you do with them? TW: drug addiction, bipolar disorder, suicide, medical trauma, death  Welcome to the first episode of The Squeeze! Actor Taylor Lautner introduces and interviews his wife, registered nurse Tay Lautner, as the two discuss her mental health journey, career as a nurse in the thick of the pandemic, and why she wanted to start this podcast. They also discuss the genesis of the Lemons by Tay blog and The Lemons Foundation, her nonprofit organization with the same mission as this podcast: to build a community that supports and encourages those struggling with their mental health, and provide a place to share resources along the way. The two then introduce a recurring segment of the show, The Lemon 11: eleven great questions that will facilitate inspiring, intentional conversation. When life gives you lemons, what do you do with them? Over here at The Squeeze—we talk about it. Host Taylor Lautner's (no, not that guy, but she is married to that guy) introduction to mental health was at a young age, witnessing friends and family suffer in ways she couldn't fully understand. She started a nursing career in the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic and has been struggling with her own depression, anxiety, and PTSD ever since. Tay is joined by co-host, husband Taylor Lautner, in addition to celebrity and expert guests to further the conversation surrounding mental wellness.
