Scott, who fled days before he was supposed to plead guilty to 14 counts of child sex abuse in July 2018, was accused of sexually assaulting his 14-year-old stepdaughter, ultimately impregnating her. Shortly after, there were signs of a suicide: a gun, a note and some blood drops in a dinghy found in the Gulf of Mexico. Eighteen months later, he was in custody.
